The ride home is long but having my guys with me makes it bearable. Jax drives up front with Kai in the passenger seat while I sit in the back between Colton and Rowan. After a long, full day of driving, we finally arrive.

"Hey Colton, why aren't you going home? I figured you'd have to be with your coven?" Rowan leans forward to ask him. Colton shakes his head.

"I spoke to my mom, and she encouraged me to come with Tessa. She's up to something." I look at Colton and laugh.

"Why do I have a feeling we will see her?" He laughs and shakes his head.

"It wouldn't surprise me." We pull up to the property that surrounds the coven, and I smile. It is good to be home. The car windows are down since it is warmer here. The scent of jasmine and sandalwood, with a touch of rosemary, greets me. It’s always calming when I'm here.

"There are some pack members here," Jax states, as he parks next to my cabin. I look around but can't see any of them.

"Maybe they're just visiting?" I look at him, and he shrugs.

"Where are we staying?" Rowan asks. I point to the cabin.

"That's my house, and that's Jax's. I moved out here a year ago, and Jax did, as well. It was easier for him to keep an eye on me."

"Yeah, not really. She would still try to sneak out."

I smacked his shoulder. "I wasn't that bad." Kai looks around.

"So, you have your own cabin at eighteen?"

"Yeah, most witches move out at sixteen. It's a common thing plus my powers are advanced, and it was easier with having fewer power surges in the house. I mean, I stayed with my parents sometimes but not always." He nods.

"Ok, let's go inside and get settled before my mother comes and snatches us all up." It's not even an hour before I feel the presence of my mom. I sigh. Here we go. She walks right through the door of the cabin, making Rowan jump.

"Where's my baby?" She yells as she rushes through the cabin.

"What the fuck?" Rowan yells out. I laugh as my mom looks at him with narrowed eyes.

"Young man, watch your language." His face drops, and everyone laughs.

"Mom, leave him alone. You scared the crap out of him. Besides, you should have knocked." I give her a look I hope is one of respect but trying to be firm. She laughs and shakes her head.

"You're right. I apologize. I'm just so happy to see you. I didn't mean to startle anyone." Rowan looks at her, and his face is still a little flushed.

"I'm sorry for my language, Ashlynn." She waves her hand at him.

"I've heard worse from these two. It's okay." She looks at Jax and me, and we laugh. "So, you must be Kai. It's a pleasure to meet you." She takes Kai in a big hug. He makes a small sound and looks at me, and I shrug. "Colton, it's so good to see you!" He moves to hug her, and she smiles.
